This past weekend the Alzheimer's Association hosted a Walk to End Alzheimer's here in Champaign (for more information about the Champaign walk click here or about the walks in general click here ). Members of AANCL volunteered and walked at the event to show our support for the cause. There was a great turnout at the event (307 registered participants according to the website) despite the rain and it was wonderful to see such solidarity! FanTing, Lydia, and Andrew walked and volunteered at the event this year.

Postdoctoral Research Associates in Aging, Health, and Technology University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign College of Applied Health Sciences Description: We are seeking two postdoctoral research associates with interests in aging, health, and technology.  These positions will be jointly advised by Dr. Wendy Rogers (Director of the Human Factors and Aging Laboratory) and Dr. Raksha Mudar (Director of the Aging and Neurocognition Laboratory. The positions are for one-year initially but are renewable for up to three years.  The overall goal of our research is to support successful aging for older adults with and without mild cognitive impairment (MCI) through technologies.  The behavioral focus areas are health self-management, social connectivity, cognitive engagement, and everyday activities in the home. Collaborative Research Grant awarded $1.8 Million in Funding

OneClick.chat,  an innovative video chat platform, has been awarded an additional  $1.8 Million  from the prestigious National Institute of Health (NIH) Small Business Innovation Research grant, in partnership with Drs. Mudar and Rogers.  This additional award builds to a total of over  $2 Million  awarded to OneClick.chat from the NIH.  This funding will be used to continue research on examination of how the OneClick.chat video technology can be used to improve social engagement and improve quality of life and health outcomes in older adults, including those with mild cognitive impairment.
